On Friday, 2nd June, our 2022 Championship-winning U16 team and our Minor Finalists were presented with their medals by Mayo LGFA legend, Cora Staunton. It was an honour and privilege to welcome such a trailblazer to our club. After an honest and open talk by Cora, our first-ever U16 Championship winners were presented with their medals alongside our Minor Finalists.
Afterwards, all our players had the opportunity to speak with Cora personally. It was a sight to behold: such an icon of Ladies Football talking individually with each and every player from our club who was in attendance. From the very youngest player to our oldest Minor player, Cora offered advice and guidance for their future playing careers.
Many thanks to Cora for taking time out from her busy schedule to be there with us. Congratulations to all our incredible medal recipients. Best wishes and good luck for this year’s championship.
